Mine has a auto-start remote button on it. You would not be able to use this function without the auto-start system in place. You can buy those systems anywhere they sell audio, speakers, stereos, ect. I would recommend a place that not only sells them, but installs them as well because they have a warranty in place should anything happen to it.
Some key fobs open doors, open the truck, have an alarm and a auto-start on it. Some have other options such as opening windows which I knew absolutely nothing about until I read the article on it.
Now, if you lock your keys in the car with the key fob on it, and someone else has another one like yours, call them on your cellphone. When you are able to talk with them, ask them to hit the open feature on their key fob when you hold the cellphone near the car - it will open the door for you. I make it a habit to carry an extra set of keys with a key fob on my person, in case I do that.
